As a medical assistant you could have the opportunity to work directly with patients, assisting with their care and well-being. If you are interested in being a part of this exciting and rewarding field, a certificate from our Medical Assistant Certificate program can allow you the opportunity to become a qualified candidate. We can provide you the necessary clinical and administrative knowledge and skills you need to seek various entry-level positions.

Our program offers a comprehensive curriculum, along with hands-on training on equipment typically used in a medical setting that can prepare you to become an integral member of a medical team. The numerous courses offered can train you for specific duties such as assisting the supervising physician with administering injections, taking vital signs, recording EKGs, assisting in minor surgical procedures, basic accounting procedures, and fundamentals of charting and documentation. To enhance your career-based experience, you will also complete an externship program at a local clinic, physician’s office, health maintenance organization, or other allied health facility.

The program also is designed to help eligible students prepare for certifications. These are not required for completion of the program, but could provide you with a competitive advantage in the workplace.

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) exam, sponsored by the American Medical Technologists (AMT)

Kaplan Integrated Technology Option

This program is available with the Kaplan Integrated Technology (KIT) option. The KIT program option provides a digital learning platform to blend the advantages of learning through new media technologies with the personalized attention, student-teacher interaction, and peer support available in classroom-based education. Media-based activities and exercises in the KIT program include short educational videos and simulations, collaborative class discussions, and interactive activities.**
